Recently the Reception children had a visit from zoo lab, a live animal handling company. They were face to face with many creepy crawly and held a number of different creatures. The children were very brave when handling giant snails and snakes, sadly Miss Surtees was busy that afternoon so Mrs Clarke kindly stepped in!
The Reception children had a great time performing their first class assembly. They all remembered their lines and spoke with confidence to the audience. We were very impressed with their presence on stage, well done Reception!
What a fantastic array of costumes for World Book Day.
Unfortunately we were prohibited from taking photographs today at the theatre, however you can take a look at the website http://www.oilycart.org.uk/early_years/current/ for an insight to the wonderful experience the children had today. There is a video link on the right hand side of the page.
The Gruffalo’s cave, Big Gruffalo writing and Owl Ice-cream! Just a few of the activities we enjoyed last week.
As of this half term I will be doing child led planning in Reception.
This encourages the children to become involved in choosing the topic/theme they would like to base their learning around.
We sit together and suggest ideas, then we vote. The children help come up with activities for the various areas of development and learning.
The Weekly Plans will be posted in the column on the right each week.
The Nursery children made the most of the dry and windy weather collecting the leaves and then having fun playing with them.
